South Korea may not be the most vegan-friendly country, but Seoul does actually have some great vegan and vegetarian food options. This blog post will tell you all my favourite vegan-friendly places I ate during my trip to Korea. Make sure you have downloaded Naver to find all of these places, as neither Google Maps nor Apple Maps work in Korea.

Bibiri Bibimbap
Bibiri Bibimbap is an all you can eat, make your own bibimbap restaurant. They have plenty of tofu but also vegetables and rice, and I really enjoyed it. The restaurant is quite difficult to find, but you will need to go downstairs into a basement to get to the entrance. It’s worth looking for though! Make sure you check the opening times as it is not open late.
Jongno 24 hour Ramen Convenience Store
The 24 hour Ramen Convenience Store is a very fun place where you make your own ramen. It is not staffed all the time, even during the day, but there are clear instructions for how to cook your ramen. The walls of the shop are stacked full of different ramen packages, and they have plenty of well-labelled vegan options.

Alt.a
Alt.a is a little on the expensive side, but it has a fully vegan menu which specialises in Asian fusion food. The staff there were also lovely, and the food was great.
Panhonesta
If you are looking for vegan bingsu and other classic Korean desserts, Panhonesta is the way to go. Again, this is a little on the expensive side, but I got an enormous portion of bingsu that was absolutely delicious.
Vegetarian food specialised restaurant Osegye Hyang
A very long-winded restaurant name, but Osegye Hyang had great vegetarian and vegan food. It was mostly vegan versions of typical Korean dishes, which I really enjoyed.

Maru Jayeonsik Gimbap
Maru Jayeonsik Gimbap also had great vegan versions of Korean dishes for very low prices, including gimbap and teokbokki. There was a great atmosphere there and the food was great.
Vegan Insa Chae Restaurant
Vegan Insa Chae is another restaurant specialising in vegan Korean food, including bibimbap and more.
Rooted
If you’re looking for western, international, and Korean food, Rooted is the place for you.
Plantude
Plantude is right by the Starfield library, one of the best places to visit in Seoul. It serves vegan Korean food as well as Asian fusion.

Hopefully this gives you a good starting point to finding the best vegan food in Seoul. It is a great city with so much to do.
