Most people just pass through Chiang Rai on their way to Laos (usually via slowboat!), so it isn’t as developed as a tourist destination as some other places in Thailand. That being said, there are several options for vegan and vegetarian food in Chiang Rai, and here are the ones I tried during my two days there.

Siam Corner

Siam Corner was a Thai place that had all of your staples. I had a great red curry, and they had loads of options on the menu.

Easyhouse

Really close to Siam Corner is Easyhouse. It’s a very similar restaurant but has great Thai food and plenty of vegan and veggie options.

Heaven Burger

If you’re looking for something Western, Heaven Burger will have options for you. They’ve got veggie burgers!

Chiang Rai Night Market

The night market in Chiang Rai has lots of great options for cheap food, and a lot is vegetarian and vegan friendly. It’s also a huge place to walk around, so I’d recommend exploring in the evening too.

As usual in Thailand, you won’t struggle to find vegan and veggie friendly food. I hope these provide a few recommendations so you have somewhere to start in Chiang Rai.
