I visited Kuta after climbing Mt Rinjani, and spent 4 days there to recover. Kuta has some of the best vegan food I had in Indonesia. This town is really similar to many in Bali, so has a lot of Western influence, but also has traditional warungs with some great (and cheaper) Indonesian food. Here are some of my favourite places.

Terra

Terra is a vegan restaurant in Kuta which has amazing fresh and cooked vegan food. I went back several times and had some amazing wraps and salads there.

Cantina Mexicana

Cantina Mexicana is a very popular place on the main strip of Kuta. It does Mexican food, which includes tacos and lots of other options. They had two or three options for vegan tacos and they were all incredible. It’s a lot of fun at this restaurant too.

Tribe

Tribe is a restaurant that has a skate park as part of it. There are really great vegan options here, and the place is well decorated and really peaceful. The skate park makes for some good entertainment too.

Mia Mia’s Kitchen

Mia Mia’s Kitchen is an Indonesian restaurant which is a little quieter than the others because it’s a bit further from the main part of the town. But it has incredible food and I definitely recommend it.

Pipes Hostel

I stayed at Pipes Hostel during my time in Kuta, and it has a great little café which does breakfast, lunch, and dinner. They had delicious smoothie bowls for breakfast and some curries and other vegan-friendly dishes for lunch and dinner. It's a little bit out of the main town, but is very peaceful and the food is good and more affordable.

Warung Ombak

Warung Ombak is similar to Mia Mia’s and also has fantastic vegan Indonesian food. It’s a bit smaller but has a great atmosphere and is very affordable.

Mama Pizza

Mama Pizza is another of Kuta’s most popular restaurants. It does unbelievably good pizzas, and you can get them without cheese to make them vegan. The atmosphere is fantastic here as well. I’d definitely recommend it!

There are countless other places to eat great food in Kuta, and I hope that you enjoy these - they are some of my favourites.
