St Andrews is a very vegan-friendly town. I spent almost 4 years there and during this time tried the vast majority of restaurants. This vegan food guide will tell you all the best vegan and vegetarian friendly food in St Andrews, Scotland.

Italian Food: Vegan Options in St Andrews
For Italian food, Lupo’s and Little Italy are the best places in St Andrews, and both have plenty of vegan options. I tended to avoid Little Italy because they don’t treat their staff well at all, and it’s also very difficult to get a booking there unless you’re making it weeks or even months in advance during busy periods. Lupo’s is a lesser known Italian restaurant in St Andrews, but is also really nice. The food is delicious and it is a much less hectic environment.
Vegan Pizza Options in St Andrews
There are three main sit-down pizza places in St Andrews: Pizza Express, Zizzi’s, and Mozza. All offer vegan options. I prefer Mozza as it isn’t a huge chain restaurant like the other two. The pizzas there are also incredible, and much cheaper than at Pizza Express or Zizzi’s. Although they charge a bit extra for vegan cheese, Mozza is vegan friendly and has great vegan pizzas.
Vegan Thai Food in St Andrews
Tanon has insanely good Thai food and it has a wealth of vegan options like curries and other classic Thai dishes. I highly recommend it.

Vegan Indian Food in St Andrews
St Andrews has two main Indian places: Maisha and Jahangir. Both have amazing food and plenty of vegan options which are very tasty. I tend to prefer Jahangir because the waiters are incredibly friendly and efficient. Don’t be put off by the mannequin in the window!
Vegan Burgers in St Andrews
Blackhorn has the best burgers in St Andrews. They have many veggie and vegan options, and if a burger isn’t what you’re after, they also have amazing wraps. It’s a really casual setting but such good food, I highly recommend.

More Vegan Friendly Restaurants in St Andrews
The Doll’s House
The Doll’s House is a little restaurant on Church Street and it has great food. It’s a little more expensive and you’ll have to book in advance, but I cannot recommend it more. They always have a vegetarian and vegan option for main course and dessert and I have not been let down once!
Oppa
Oppa has delicious Korean food, with vegan options like dumplings and other staple Korean dishes. It is more of a place for walking in, and it only has 5 tables, so it’s hard to get one, especially around peak mealtimes. However, it’s worth the wait. You can also order takeaway from here.
Forgan’s
Forgan’s is a really popular place on Market Street which serves mostly Scottish and English traditional food. There are a good number of vegan options on the menu, including desserts.

Mitchell’s
Right next to Forgan’s on Market Street is Mitchell’s. It is a bit more casual than Forgan’s, but the food is equally as good and they have a great breakfast menu too. Plenty of vegan options as well.
Bibi’s and North Point
Bibi’s and North Point are cafés in St Andrews which serve brunch too. They have really good food at a more affordable price point, including brunch. I really like both of them and you’d be missing out if you didn’t stop in for even a coffee and cake!
Jannetta’s
A visit to St Andrews would not be complete without a trip to Jannetta’s. It is a really famous ice cream parlour and the ice cream and desserts they serve are incredible. There are so many different flavours, and they have a huge vegan range.

I hope this gives you a good overview of the vegan food in St Andrews. There are so many other great places to eat, so this is by no means an exclusive list. As you can tell, you won’t struggle in this little coastal town!
